Student Expectations

Inspiring Excellence Every Day

At Apple International School, we believe that every student has the ability to succeed and make a positive difference in the world. Our expectations are built around our core values of Excellence, Empathy, Resilience, Independence, 21st-Century Skills, and Global Mindedness. These values guide every aspect of school life and help our students become confident, responsible, and compassionate lifelong learners.

Respect for Everyone

We expect every student to demonstrate kindness, courtesy, and respect towards classmates, staff, parents, and visitors. Every interaction should reflect empathy, integrity, and consideration for others.

Students will:

  • Treat everyone with dignity and respect.
  • Celebrate diversity and inclusion.
  • Use appropriate language and behaviour.
  • Resolve conflicts respectfully and responsibly.
Students are expected to approach their learning with curiosity, effort, and a positive attitude. This includes actively participating in class, completing assignments to the best of their ability, seeking help when needed, and taking ownership of their academic progress and personal growth.
We expect all students to uphold honesty and fairness in their academic work. This means submitting original work, giving proper credit for ideas and sources, avoiding plagiarism or cheating in any form, and behaving with integrity during assessments and examinations.

Regular attendance and punctuality are essential to a student’s academic success and overall development. Students are expected to arrive on time for school and all classes, maintain consistent attendance, and inform the school promptly in case of any planned or unplanned absence.

Students are expected to treat others with respect, kindness, and consideration at all times. This includes following school rules and codes of conduct, taking responsibility for their own actions and choices, and contributing positively to a safe and supportive school environment.
Students should maintain a neat and tidy appearance in line with the school’s uniform and dress code policy. This reflects pride in oneself and the school community, and includes proper grooming, correct uniform wear, and care of personal belongings.
Students are expected to use technology and digital platforms responsibly, safely, and ethically. This includes respecting others online, protecting personal information, using school devices and internet access for learning purposes, and reporting any concerns about inappropriate online behaviour.
We encourage every student to develop leadership qualities and a spirit of service through participation in school activities, community projects, and peer support initiatives. Students are expected to lead by example, show initiative, and contribute meaningfully to the wider school community.
We believe a student’s success is best supported through a strong partnership between school and home. Parents are encouraged to stay engaged with their child’s learning, communicate openly with teachers, support school policies, and attend school events and parent-teacher meetings.
